Overview

The Lunar New Year Gala 2026, presented by CDCHA (Chinese Dragon Culture Heritage Association), is a vibrant multicultural celebration welcoming the Year of the Horse. This free community event brings together artists, performers, and audiences from diverse cultural backgrounds to celebrate unity, creativity, and cultural heritage through the arts.

The evening features a rich lineup of multicultural stage performances, alongside world-class Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) experiences rooted in traditional Chinese culture. Audiences will have the opportunity to engage with hands-on cultural activities such as traditional paper folding, calligraphy, shadow puppetry, and windmill making, creating an immersive and interactive experience for all ages.

More than a performance, the Lunar New Year Gala serves as a platform for cultural exchange, community connection, and cross-cultural understanding. Through music, dance, storytelling, and traditional arts, the event highlights both the depth of Chinese heritage and the shared values that connect cultures across the world.

Admission is free, and donations are welcome to support CDCHA’s ongoing mission of promoting cultural education, inclusivity, and community engagement across Cape Breton and beyond.
